It can be  a very stable desk but there are limitations

Uplift never failed to meet our expectations regarding a more steady and stable workstation. We’ll be quick to recommend the V2 if you’re setting up your WFH nook at home, especially if you intend to spend long hours in front of the monitor.   upliftv2standingdeskreview.jpg3

At all heights, the frame was constant at maintaining its fort. You can feel the desk effortlessly transitioning to the preferred height even if you have maxed out the desk’s weight capacity. Even with the constant wear and tear, there are no issues with the motor lagging, shaking, or feeling a bit shaky. So when it comes to lateral stability if your monitors are placed on top of the desk itself, this can provide you with a solid area to type, write, make drawings, etc.

On the other hand, you can see people not happy with the V2 frame, even if they went for the one with four legs. This configuration welcomes you to a better and more muscular frame that can withstand additional weight and further wear and tear. Thus if you need such a workhorse, getting the V2 frame with the four legs will make your purchase more worth it, the additional moolah though is not that easy on the pocket.

You do have to manage the limitations as we have mentioned earlier, or better yet, get another desk that will be able to provide a more stable area for you to work peacefully. You see when you’re using monitor arms, here is where all the shaking and wobbling come into play. Also, it depends on how many monitors you will prop up on the monitor arms. With a multiple setup, say three monitors mounted on the arms, there will be significant swaying with the monitors situated at the farthest side of the desk. No matter which height you move the unit to, you will be able to see the monitors dancing a bit. But the middle monitor will still be stationary and will not budge.

The addition of the crossbar did good for the lateral stability of the unit. However, it may not offer additional support when it comes to transitioning the desk with a multiple monitor setup. So expect this to be not the most stable when you have a more busy workstation. Thus if you are multitasking with more than one monitor, this might be worth looking into.

It’s a highly customizable desk

The brand makes sure you have all the goodies in sight so you can get all that you need to make the unit work for you. You often start with the basic frame and pair it up with a suitable desktop of your choice or just opt to go for the V2 frame itself. You have an awful lot of choice when it comes to the tabletop and it can be a bit overwhelming for some. The brand did a good job of making things less complicated and a bit more seamless, especially if you’re new to the brand.

You can also try to check out comparison videos and reviews in case you find yourself lost in translation, there are a lot of resources available online that can help you make the proper choice.

After you’ve made the suitable frame tabletop choice,  you can opt to prop your desk with the fancies and accessories you need and want to get these from the same brand as well.

It is a regal and minimalist desk but there are some cheap-looking parts

V2 frame when coupled with an Uplift tabletop makes up for a very simple yet stunning workstation.  It’s not over the top that can make you ogle over, but you can tell that it’s not a mid-range desk even from afar, it’s not all lilies and sunshine, and there are also some cheap-looking parts. We’re not just talking about the not-so-premium aesthetics,  some may also feel rather flimsy and can undermine the premium look and feel of the entire desk.

 1-1

For instance, the cable management tray that comes free looks very generic and doesn’t offer a great solution for you to manage your wires and cables. It is a bit small and shallow and we opted to take it out and just make use of a more substantial wire management tray from another source. You also have to decide if you still want to use it before setting up the entire unit.  Once you have installed the crossbar, it can be painstaking to remove it since it can be in the way. So bear this in mind to save you from the trouble.

You also have the cable ties, they look basic and can work, but we felt that they do not stick to the underside of the desk that well, both on the wood and metal components of the desk, rendering them a bit useless when used alone. Adding mounting tapes and velcro can do the trick though so you will still be able to use them.

V2 is quite stable but may lack the premium feel

Without the use of multiple monitors on arms, this frame can be a better and more stable option than the V1 and a lot of mid-range standing desk brands.

Though Uplift indulges you with a hefty choice of tabletops and a handful of accessory options that can complete your home setup, we find this limited in terms of the premium look and feel. We are generally happy with the stability, but we are hoping for more premium and stylish desktop options and accessories It could be a bit better considering the not-so-budget-friendly price tag it bears.
